                  VISUAL FIELD SCAN

The vision field scan enables the Doctor to map the progress of the patient. This vision test consists of both a vision field scanning and visual acuity test. A test is done prior to the patient receiving treatments and another vision test done after approximately 5 treatments. The results of the 2 vision tests can then be compared and the Doctor can determine the effectiveness of the treatments.

The vision field scanning is done by looking into a white spherical dome shaped apparatus. The machine will produce light flashes, which resemble white dots against this white opaque background. The patient is to push a button each time they see the flash of light (may be bright or dim). When the testing is complete, the device will effectively "map" the patient’s field of vision.

Vision field scanning does not require dilating or any other form of preparation of the eye.

The Chief Micro Acupuncturist uses the results of the scanner and the acuity test to give hard proof that the treatments are indeed working and to what extent.

This is what the visual scan machine prints out after a vision field test. Dark colors represent seriously limited vision, black being no vision at all. Lighter colors, white/yellow being the highest, represent clear vision.
