microacupuncture: alternative vision treatment
A treatment for vision related disorders such as macular degeneration, diabetes, glaucoma and retinitis pigmentosa.

After my first treatment, I could already see better in my bad eye. Everyone says you can't do anything about this, but I can see more clearly. And I'm determined to prevent my good eye from getting worse.

A Testimonial for Eyesight Recovery through Acupuncture with Dr. Per Otte.
It behooves me, as a husband whose wife has been legally blind since 1995, to witness her recovery of sight in both eyes over a six-week period of treatments starting in March 2000! My wife, Mary, has Macular Degeneration with one eye "wet" and the other "dry." I must say, "had" because she has experienced miraculous recovery as witnessed by many friends and patients engaged in this program!

As a husband who thought Acupuncture was a "Voo-Doo," "Band-Aid," "Money Grabbing," "Wasted Time," "Mythical, come and get it" procedure, WOW was I Wrong !! In the past six weeks, while sitting in the assembly room awaiting completion of my wife's treatments, I've been witness to testimonials of countless number of patients who are re-gaining sight! Their expressions of joy and enthusiasm are a "sight to behold."

For anyone who has this tragic malady, I would highly suggest getting to this man P.D.Q.! The sooner you get treatment, the quicker you experience the recovery! His track record is 98% success. After a few treatments and an eye scan, the doctor reviews this computerized "track" and will then tell you if he can recover your sight!

We have been down the road of Ophthalmologists who give up on you and say you will never see again, don't waste your money on Acupuncture, and that's all a bunch of Bull-oney!

Losing sight is catastrophic, but regaining sight is a Miracle of Miracles! We worship the ground this man walks on and may the Good Lord expand this phenomenal procedure throughout the World!
I have my wife back !!

I would like to share with you my experience(s) in being treated by Dr. Per Otte at the Arkansas Therapy Center. I have a rare condition called Optic Atrophy/Neuritis that is bilateral. This condition started when I was 15-16 years old. I have had several attacks/flare ups of this eye disease and each time I was actively treated by steroids and examined/tested thoroughly to try to determine what was causing this to happen to me. The good news/bad news was that my health insurance paid for all of this "art of medicine" that was being done for me, the bad news was no answers and only the statistical probability that if I got old enough with my vision I "might" keep some of it.
I believe God gave me this cross for a reason and probably one of the reasons is to make me be patient.

One quote that has given me a lot of comfort is, "Winning isn't everything... but the ability to rise every time after you have fallen is" Vince Lombardi. I was able to pick myself up every time I fell down, or had actually truly physically hurt myself as I tried to do things that were hard/impossible due to the lack of my field/peripheral vision.

In all the events that have happened to me in the last 25 years since the eye problem started, a lot of blessings have come my way. I have grown more aware of the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus, I have met and married my "Bride" Susan, I have been blessed to "watch" my two knock down drag out gorgeous daughters, Laura and Emily come into this world. In August of 1999, I was told about this Doctor by a good friend Betty Clarke who shortly after that traveled to Hot Springs Village for her first treatments. When Betty came back, we spoke on the phone for almost 2 hours! There was no doubt I had to come to gain back what had been lost.

I came to Dr. Otte Jan 2000 fresh from a religious retreat at St. Meinrard Indiana with a sense of mission and peace. I was blessed as most of the Doctor's patients are with immediate improvement after just two days of treatments. I came back at the end of March 2000 to receive my 2nd group of treatments. I am now back for my 3rd trip and as of my last field vision exam back in April, I had gained two times the amount of field vision I had previously had in my left eye with my acuity becoming 20/20 in it. In my right eye, I gained five times the amount of field vision from when I first started. I am no longer legally blind at this time.

I feel called to share my story and the information with as many people as I can. It is my hope that one day Dr. Otte will be able to help facilitate a clinic like this in every one of our great states.

Finally, I would like to say a word or two about the people that make this clinic go: the patients, Dr. Otte's staff, and the man himself. You will never meet more excited and good-hearted people than those who come to this clinic. They are sincerely grateful to be given back the treasure of vision. Dr. Otte's dedicated staff do everything they can to make you feel welcome, comfortable, and to answer your questions. They are never in a big rush like you might have experienced in other Dr.'s offices. Finally, the man himself. I have had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Otte several times in his office. He is a sincerely humble man who gives far more than I or anyone else could give back to him. I pray for him daily so he can continue his ministry.
Sincerely,
Tim Arvin

I have suffered from Macular Degenerationfor the past four years, and in the last year it has gotten much worse. My doctors said they could do nothing more for me.

I heard about Dr. Otte in June, and made an appointment for July 10, 2000. After two weeks treatment, my eyesight improved 50% in my right eye and 30% in my left eye. I can now read a newspaper, which is something I have not been able to do for six months, and drive with confidence.
I am extremely happy with my treatment and plan to return for additional treatments twice a year. I would be willing to travel anywhere to receive treatment from Dr. Otte.

Sincerely,
James B. Weeks

December 6, 1999 I had my first series of treatments from Dr. Per G. Otte. When I came to see him, I had lost vision in my right eye several years ago and the second eye had begun to have spots (blurred vision) and all the difficulties in trying to read.

After one week of treatments by Dr. Otte, my left eye cleared up with exception of a small spot in the center. The rest of the eye was clear, no fuzzy or distorted vision.

In February 2000, I returned to work after being retired for several years. I am now working full time leaving at 6:00 a.m. and driving about 100 miles per day, five days per week.

I would recommend Dr. Otte's treatment to anyone who has low vision. I will soon be 79 years of age.
Sincerely,
Dorothy Dickerson

My experiences are not unlike many others about which I have read. Distorted vision, wiggly lines-maybe a lens change is the answer. How wrong I was. No yard work, no bird watching, couldn't see numbers in the phone book or dials on the stove, could no longer drive, needed help to do simple shopping, could no longer thread a needle, any crafts impossible-this is the downside to the terrible affliction I have, known as Macular Degeneration.

My first awareness of my failing eyesight was in early 1997 during tax season. For 36 years, I had worked for my CPA husband doing typing, filing, and general office work. I was desperate to find some positive direction for my life. In September, I was due for my yearly eye exam with my optometrist. I was having some distortion in my vision and I thought I might need new lenses. My trip to the doctor proved me wrong. When my optometrist couldn't change my lenses, I knew I was in trouble. HE sent me to an ophthalmologist. Within a week, I learned that I had Macular Degeneration. I was then referred to a retinal specialist in Atlanta. After several useless trips to Atlanta throughout 1998, all that could be done was to have me look at an eye chart to basically watch for eye hemorrhages. I was being told I still had Macular Degeneration and there was no treatment except laser surgery that would destroy my sight. My family began to search the Internet to find out what was available to help. Becoming informed and educated about this disorder became primary for all of us.

In March of 1999, I was given the toll free number of Dr. Per Otte in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. My daughter's art teacher got the number from a friend, whom I later met in Arkansas in Dr. Otte's waiting room. Small World !! I received information one week, and the next week I was on the way to see Dr. Otte. After about 2 days of micro-acupuncture treatment, I saw steps!! After this first trip, I went back through Atlanta for an evaluation. My retinal specialist dismissed me when I refused laser treatment. Devastated by this shabby, unkind experience, I resolved to continue with the micro-acupuncture treatments. I returned for treatments every 4 to 6 weeks in 1999. Gradually the distortion began to clear, lines became crisp, the "pincushion" cleared, and the black spots in my center vision faded to light gray. No more fireworks or pinwheels. I now have made 6 trips to Dr. Otte's, staying 5 days with 3 treatments a day except on Friday's which only called for 2. I had a total of 84 treatments.

Now for the upside of all of this. I now walk unaided. I can pour a cup of coffee. I am beginning to be able to try some of the important things I once did. I know that I am seeing better and I am learning to adjust. Through the help of a support group, I am learning about low vision catalogs, clinics, and talking books! I never knew how hard it would be to find even a magnifying glass!! I have discovered over-sized checks and enhanced magnifiers. I thank God for the Video Eye - I can now read again - not only the phone book, but also my mail - and I can crochet again! I do not have any bleeding and I am seeing well. There is hope. I am now taking a megavitamin and 4 supplements every day. I eat a leafy green salad every day and follow a balanced healthy diet. I also exercise every day if possible.

I firmly believe that God answered my prayers and sent me to Arkansas. Dr. Otte and his staff are the most positive, compassionate, caring people I have ever encountered. I'm looking forward excitedly to returning to see Dr. Otte in three months. I wish I could take you there, too. All you have to do is sit in the waiting room for a while and listen to the people who come from all over the world - what a marvelous, positive story they tell. After spending a week there, you feel like you have a new family. The staff affectionately refers to me as "The Georgia Pincushion". They are interested in what you are seeing and what progress you are making. Medicare pays nothing on these visits, so something great must be going on for so many people to be willing to pay their own way time and again. Medicare paid for all my trips to Atlanta where I received no help for my condition. Medicare denied petitions for assistance for my trips to see Dr. Otte who has been able to help me so much.

I've met some people I will never forget and look forward to seeing again. In the waiting room, a very large map of the United States is very prominent. Each patient put a pin in his or her hometown. I even met a college professor from Africa, a young blind mother from New York, a Texas first grade school teacher with Juvenile Macular Degeneration - fabulous people who will not give up. They are an inspiration!! During one of my trips to see Dr. Otte, I asked when I should plan to return. His reply was "when you want to see better, come see me."

I am a 71 - year-old mother of 4 children and grandmother of 8. My family's support has been wonderful. I am blessed with caring friends. As I talk with fellow sufferers and read accounts in newsletters, I realize we are all in the same boat, we all want to see better.
Sincerely,
Milladene Grant
