microacupuncture:alternative vision treatment

Five specialists advised me that nothing could be done to help. They were wrong. Acupuncture at the ATC has helped me tremendously.

Microacupuncture has been practiced in the United States since the early 1990’s by Dr. Per Otte OMD. With a high degree of success. Thousands of people afflicted with diseases of the retina and optic nerve such as Macular Degeneration (both wet and dry), Retinitis Pigmentosa, Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma, Stargardt’s, and have received satisfying results from Microacupuncture in the U.S. and in Europe. Clinical experience shows that 98 percent of our patients show improvement in vision, according to visual field scans and acuity testing for near and far vision. The remaining two percent neither gain nor lose vision as a result of receiving these treatments. In eighty percent of cases, patients are satisfied with the results. Most patients will show improvement in vision after just five or six treatments. As with any form of acupuncture, there are no negative side effects.

If you experience or suspect decrease in vision, get an vision field scan with an grayscale print out and se if there are areas where the vision is low compare to the surrounding area, this can be a sign of problems coming, but not noticeable yet, this will allow treatments to prevent or slowdown the loss of vision. Prevention is the best treatment.

Advanced MicroAcupuncture.
Only at the Beckley center.

New to the microacupuncture concept is the option of blood testing, for imbalance in nutrition or hormones etc. In severe cases we have the option of giving the nutrition in form of IV therapy.

Microacupunture is unique form of acupuncture developed in Denmark. The acupuncture points are not part of any other system of acupuncture currently used. At the Microacupuncture center in Beckley WV. I practiced Microacupuncture in its original form, placing needles in the hands and feet only. The focus of treatment is directed to the area of the eyes, optic nerve and brain without interference of other techniques. There is evidence that Microacupuncture actually helps to rebuild the tissue in the eyes, helping to restore the integrity of the retina.

Placement of the acupuncture needles and use of the points is very specific for Microacupuncture. Unlike traditional Chinese medicine, Microacupuncture is used solely for diseases where blood circulation is compromised. These points do not have the regulating action that is common to so many of the points used in Oriental medicine. Therefore, it is important that treatments are performed by a practitioner trained in this procedure. The practitioner requires knowledge of how Microacupuncture points affect the physiology so they can choose those that bring about the greatest benefit, and avoid points that are contraindicated for certain conditions. Some of our patients have received Microacupuncture by untrained practitioners and reported little or no benefit.

Microacupuncture cannot be performed successfully without the guidance of a visual field scan. Treatments are personalized according to location of damage within the eyes as determined by the visual field scan, performed at our treatment centers prior to treatment, and from examination of the patient’s diagnosis by an ophthalmologist or retinal specialist.

Nutritional supplements are an important component of the vision treatments, insuring the availability of necessary building blocks to maintain and create healthy vision cells and increase sensitivity of the optic nerve. Microacupuncture Vision Support Dietary Supplement is one of the most powerful and well balanced formulas available, helping to stabilize vision between treatment sessions, and can be used by anyone as a general prevention. It is recommended that after making an appointment to receive Microacupuncture treatments, the patient start taking the Microacupuncture Vision Support Dietary Supplement as soon as possible.

There may be positive side effects to receiving Microacupuncture treatments for vision problems. In Denmark, a study was undertaken where seventeen patients were monitored for cholesterol levels in the blood. Fifteen of the patients showed a seven to ten percent lowering of cholesterol levels after just five treatments. Those patients whose cholesterol levels improved also demonstrated improvement in vision.

The two remaining patients received no benefit in either cholesterol levels or vision.
